A Run to Remember

  • 235 Pitcher Lane Red Hook, NY, 12571 (map)

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” ― Lao Tzu

Organized by Austin Loeffel:

“A Run to Remember is a decade-old seed that has recently taken root. When I received the news that my brother, Chris, had passed away after a long, painful battle with depression and addiction, the world around me seemed to collapse. Grief is an ongoing process that looks different in every situation, but that doesn’t mean we have to go through it alone.

A Run to Remember is an invitation to come together as a community: a collective of individuals who support each other through good times and bad. It is an opportunity to run in the spirit of competition, or walk in the spirit of good health. It is a chance to connect back to each other and back to the land that provides us with all that we need.

I run to remember my brother. I run to remember that I am never alone, no matter how lonely I may feel.  I run to remember the pain I once felt, but no longer do. I run to remember that we are on this journey together.

What are you running to remember?

If you know someone who might be struggling, or who is undoubtedly suffering, I encourage you to bring them along with you on May 6th. Let us take the first step together.” - Austin
