Metropolitan Horn

Peter DelGrosso founded Metropolitan Horn Authority in the fall of 2017 and has been working as a horn player, educator, and composer/arranger in New York City since 2014. As a performer he has traveled through China as principal horn of The Philadelphia Festival Orchestra, to Switzerland as the horn player for the Talis Festival & Academy, and also to Sweden and Columbia. Most recently Peter was a guest artist and brass clinician for the Casalmaggiore International Music festival in Casalmaggiore, Italy.
Back in the United States, Peter is an active member in orchestras throughout New York including The Chelsea Symphony, Manhattan Symphonie, and New York Wind Orchestra. He is currently the principal horn of the Yonkers Philharmonic in which he was a soloist in 2018. He also performed Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 4 with The Chelsea Symphony in 2019.
Receiving a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Virginia Commonwealth University, Peter was awarded "Outstanding Achievement in Music Education." Peter also received a Master of Music in Classical Performance from the Aaron Copland School of Music. Peter's teachers include David Jolley, Patrick Smith, Greg Thomas, John D'earth, John Clark, and Chris Komer.
Peter is an enthusiastic educator and is on faculty at the Long Island Conservatory. He is also the Creative Director of Mozart for Munchkins, an interactive concert series for children.
